probably 9k is the key there for the high price? 9k is 2x+ than 4k

Can't tell if this is sarcasm but the qm9k competes with oleds in terms of picture quality. They have up to 6000 dimming zones, providing an exceptional contrast ratio and deep blacks. It is edged out by oleds of course but only in dark rooms. Due to the mini LEDs and VA panel in the qm9k, it is vastly brighter than your typical oled, while still providing similar image quality. This makes it a better television for a typical living room where there are lots of windows and light shining through. However, oled is still king if you have a dark room / theater setup. Is it worth the price? Electronics never truly are since most of them are made with very cheap parts and labor, but in terms of of viewing quality, I would say it's great.

Even 8k resolution tvs are not worth $1500... let alone a 4k resolution tv in 65"

I see $1999?

If this was $1500 for the QM9K, that would be a steal. This is a great tv fyi.
