AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are the open fit AirPods that trade some noise blocking for a more comfortable feel than AirPods Pro. The ANC is still described as pretty good for earbuds that sit just inside the ear, and the lack of a seal makes them a better fit for ears that do not get along with silicone tips. The main drawback is that Pro models still cancel noise better, and the stem has no volume control. The Costco price has also been seen as steady for weeks and the offer now runs through 12.8, with backorder timing noted for 12.8 to 12.14.
Common Questions (5)
No. AirPods Pro has better ANC because the in-ear seal blocks more sound. AirPods 4 with ANC still does a decent job, but it sits outside the ear and is a better fit if Pro tips feel uncomfortable or cause headaches.
The price was reported as already running for weeks and later updated to be good through 12/8. A separate comment says the item is backordered for 12/8-12/14, so delivery may slip into that window.
The comments do not confirm AppleCare is included with this Costco listing. Costco deals sometimes differ based on whether AppleCare is bundled, so this listing should be checked for that detail before buying.
No. The AirPods 4 design does not include volume control on the stem, which is a drawback if you want on-ear volume adjustment without using your phone or another device.
The comments do not give a confirmed answer on expired-membership returns. This deal thread only raises the question, so Costco's current return policy should be checked directly before relying on it.

The Airpods 4 w/ANC do not make a seal and just sit outside of the ear. The ANC does not perform as well compared to the pro due to lack of air tight seal, but does a fairly decent job at ANC.
It all comes to personal preference on the ear feel you desire.

the AppleCare basically said you had to use $29 just to do a claim, while the Allstate didn't say anything like that, and it included liquid damage which is the most likely culprit of washing them you know
Nope, noise cancellation on the Pro line is better. But it's still pretty good for earbuds that sit just inside the ear. Nice alternative for people who find the Pro doesn't fit or feel right.
