This helmet is #111 on the VA Tech helmet testing list for MTB helmets. I'm sure fine for most settings, but better protection is available for $15 more:

The MIPS is inside the helmet, it an extra layer that moves somewhat easily.

These are very very good line of Helmets. Anesthetics are subjective but Virginia tech gives it top scores.

The MIPS is a sliding layered assembly just above the padding that is in touch with the skull of the wearer.

These helmets look bulky in product photos but are not top heavy and look "nornal" when worn.

I know, I had wtf reaction to it too when first seen.
