The 512 for 1k is the best in terms of value IMO. It's funny how cell models are cheaper than wifi only models at costco right now.

The Costco version has nano glass, I don't see that listed on this Amazon model which makes the Costco deal even stronger.

That's true, assuming you like the nano texture

Is that an option from Costco? Do you have a link?

Only if you frequently use your iPad sunny outdoors or are neurotic about resale value. If you're a standard mostly indoors user the nano glass is a downgrade, it hurts visual fidelity

I would spring for the M5 if you can. These things are getting superseded too fast.

Superseded? Lol...how exactly? The M1 which released 4 years ago in 2021 can do everything the M5 can do, and 95% of the time does it just as well. The only exception is if you're in the niche user base that actually utilizes the M5 to 100% utilization, in which case it does do some things FASTER than the M1 but regardless, the M1 could still do all those things, just not as fast.

I'm not sure the nano-texture positively affects resale value. If anything, I'd think it hurts resale value, as the market of people looking for it is a lot slimmer (less demand). It's also easier to scratch than the standard glass, which can affect your resale value as well.

Definitely a plus if you are in sunny/bright environments very often though. I wanted the 1TB at Costco, but have no interest in Nano-Texture, so I went with the 512GB for $999. Too bad Costco doesn't have the 1TB Standard glass on as steep of a discount. The $1499 on Amazon isn't worth the $500 premium over 512GB at Costco.
