The wires from the receiver you'll need powers the individual speakers. Only the sub and receiver need to be plugged in

Not sure why it's an issue this doesn't include a receiver, it's 170 for a legit 5.1 system, and yes it's comparable to the energy take ones that punch way above their weight class.

You can get a Denon, Yamaha, Onkyo receiver and pair this to make an awesome 5.1 system for an amazing price.
