LaserJet is a brand from HP...did you mean an HP printer or just any laser printer? I ask because for the last few years, HP had locked their printers to where you are FORCED to buy HP toner and ink -- your claim of buying "generic toner" is not valid any more. It will not work. Did you know this inkjet is a COLOR printer? Are you suggesting people go find a used $50 COLOR laser printer? What if you want to print photos? Photos suck on a laser printer. Since you didn't say why you hate inkjets, I will assume you remember way back when ink cartridges would clog and cost a fotrune. I will let you know that printers like this use ink tanks and "refills" are just bottles of ink. You can use OEM ink or you can use generic ink, but either way it's very economical. They also come with 2 years of ink (average usage) in the box.
So if you can clarify why people should buy a used B/W LaserJet over a COLOR inkjet, it might help people make a better decision.
Community Reviews
Canon's MegaTank G3270 is a color ink tank all in one that stands out for low running costs and solid home photo and document output. The refill bottles are described as economical, with generic ink around $30 for all four colors, and replacement parts like the print heads and maintenance cartridge are separately priced. The main cautions are reliability and convenience, since clogging and deep cleaning are a concern, the small LCD is hard to read, and duplex printing appears to require manual page flipping. It is a practical pick if you want color printing without cartridge costs.
Common Questions (5)
No, duplex printing is not automatic on this model; it may require manually flipping the paper. If auto-duplex matters, the G3290 is the similar model mentioned with duplex printing.
It can still clog and require cleaning, and the maintenance cartridge collects ink used during those cleaning cycles. One reported unit never worked right out of the box and another color version had constant clogs and deep cleaning needs.
Generic replacement ink is around $30 for all four colors, and Canon lists BH-20 black print heads at $29, CH-20 color print heads at $39, and the MC-G04 maintenance cartridge at $12. The tank system is described as economical because the refills are just bottles of ink.
No, the $109 Amazon deal appears to be gone. The price was later showing $139, with the cheapest new option from Adorama and no listing shipped and sold by Amazon.
Yes, it is described as coming with about 2 years of ink for average usage in the box. That makes the tank system attractive if you want low ongoing ink costs.

They won't price match Amazons price because it's a "special offer" price.
