For anyone on the fence for this one, don't be! At this price it's a no-brainer. This is easily an above $1K system. Have had a previous year version of this and it has adequately replaced my full HT system for over a year now. My full system is still there waiting for me to hook it back up, but just haven't had the time to rerun wires and setup back receiver, power amp, etc when this wireless system is a good substitute for a fraction of the price. I'd recommend this Q990 at this price in a heartbeat.

The Q990F series new is for $867.99 on Woot. Is this better an worth it?
Rtings says buy whichever is cheaper... I had bought an F earlier and didnt care for the new style sub so returned it and bought another D so there's my anecdotal opinion. YMMV which you'll prefer but if it's a push in sound quality, $250 is $250.

If you are used to "real" home theater and think this could be a high spouse approval substitute for having speakers, wires, processor, amps etc--then you will be disappointed/are better off skipping.
Strongly disagree with this, is it as good as my in 2 in-wall/ceiling, dual rear sub systems in my previous house? No, but then again I spent multiple thousands spec'ing it all out and wiring/building it all in. Is it pretty damn good, yes I think it is as does the wife, especially for ~$600.

I bought this for $688 three weeks ago from here.
I know people praise it, but I wouldn't buy it again even at a cheaper price.

Voices still sound tinny and boxy and there's almost no left/right separation. The base and atmos height effects and surround sound effects are very good which is why it gets praise, but 80% of the important sound is dialog and front speaker content and it still sounds like a small plastic speaker to me.

Any one of my dedicated speakers in the $200-$300 price range make that front 80% of audio content sound miles better than this bar. I cross compared with a pair of Infinity R 162, Klipsch RP 150s and 160s, and a pair of Emotiva Airmotiv B1+

I'll still keep and use the bar as it looks nicer under an 85 inch TV, and I don't have room on the sides of my TV for a pair of speakers, but the upstairs living room will keep the full surround sound system and it's not even close for me.
Interesting, as I have an old school higher end receiver that does surround sound with wired satellite speakers and center channel, has a wired sub, etc., with some tower speakers. While it sounds great (likely better than wireless surround sound systems), the wife prefers a clean and/or less cluttered look.
So are these modern sleek wireless systems better from a sound quality standpoint than our older high end systems?

This hasn't been 1k+ in a while. It's routinely on sale every few months for under 800.. nevertheless, it's a great system, and the cheapest it's been by about $100.

2 years ago these were over 1k with a and b series hardly ever under 1k.

Why are you using the soundbar remote? You should be using the TV remote to control the device through CEC.
i thought it was obvious.. because the tv remote is useless. the soundbar remote is way less expensive than my QN90D solar remote at $7 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Replacemen...B0DDK4QGBG

Going to wait until it hits $400s. I'm still bitter.
