Also does not seem to be working for many of us who do have it.

Why is it not a requirement to stipulate this is a special deal for EPP or whatever criteria that many are not a part of?

Had mine (the same speakers, just C instead of D) for about 2 years. I noticed 6 months ago, it wasn't really playing and just got around to messing with it.Apparently some firmware update mid-summer soft-bricked a bunch of these.Well anyway after a bunch of messing around with it, I was finally able to get it to pick up the firmware from USB and it seemed to have updated. However, it still won't work. Sometimes it works for a minute or two, then just... stops. Sometimes it doesn't even come on.$1,000 down the drain, unfortunately. And even before that, the wifi never stayed connected.
I had the same experience. The WiFi/Bluetooth module failed after a year or so. Watch out!

Does this affect the direct HDMI connection from soundbar to TV?

I was able to get the code to work on desktop but not mobile

Thankfully it did not for me. But maybe I got lucky. After the firmware issue, my research showed it bricked few others' completely like the other user reported. YMMV.

Bad deal, reported. Should have that edu BS in the title.
It literally is... Samsung EPP, right there in the title.

Signed out on mobile. Cleared cache on desktop. Went to EPP login on desktop, added it to the cart and used the code.

I assume this is a really nice set huh.
I have a nice yamaha receiver and 5.1 speakers, but recently moved and don't want to have to redo speaker wiring!

I've been thinking about ditching my ancient living room setup and this deal was good enough for me to pull the trigger. One of the cash back sites also has 10% cash back on soundbars. Thanks OP

I bought this for $688 three weeks ago from here.
I know people praise it, but I wouldn't buy it again even at a cheaper price.

Voices still sound tinny and boxy and there's almost no left/right separation. The base and atmos height effects and surround sound effects are very good which is why it gets praise, but 80% of the important sound is dialog and front speaker content and it still sounds like a small plastic speaker to me.

Any one of my dedicated speakers in the $200-$300 price range make that front 80% of audio content sound miles better than this bar. I cross compared with a pair of Infinity R 162, Klipsch RP 150s and 160s, and a pair of Emotiva Airmotiv B1+

I'll still keep and use the bar as it looks nicer under an 85 inch TV, and I don't have room on the sides of my TV for a pair of speakers, but the upstairs living room will keep the full surround sound system and it's not even close for me.

I bought the prior year release Q990 set, regret it more and more as time goes on. Feel like I got duped by a popular YouTube reviewer. I paid $700 in late 2023.
Part of my problem with this is because most of my experience is with true home theater setups. No matter what anyone says, this can't compete with a properly configured and calibrated home theater system. We have it in our living room and it's ok for watching sports or TV shows. But not for movies or anything where immersive soundtrack is important.
Then there are 3 issues are with the device itself. 1) The biggest upgrade of this to me was the prospect of wireless surrounds. Unfortunately in practice they barely ever fire, and when they do it is often out of context (i.e. randomly playing front channel sound). No amount of upping surround volume nor adjusting the modes have made this better. Yes we have latest firmware.
2) we have it paired with a pre-Q Symphony generation Samsung tv, but the fact it is a Samsung does not seem to matter. 1-2 times per year have had to do a full reset because the HDMI handshake craps out. Using the Smartthings app can offer additional controls but doesn't solve everything.
3) the presence of the Q990 introduced reliability issues to the TV wi-fi. The whole setup is a few feet from nearest mesh access point, never had an issue before but ever since the Q990 moved in we periodically (sometimes multiple times in a day, sometimes only once in a while) have to hold the power button on the TV until it full-restarts and can regain connection to the network.
This replaced a smaller Yamaha soundbar+sub in our living room, if all you want to do is upgrade from an existing sound bar and don't care about cost, then feel free. Based on our experience and use case, I wouldn't buy this again even at the lower $600 price.
If you are used to "real" home theater and think this could be a high spouse approval substitute for having speakers, wires, processor, amps etc--then you will be disappointed/are better off skipping.
