Samsung's S90F OLED is drawing attention as a bright, colorful QD OLED TV that stands out for gaming, upscaling, and strong SDR and HDR performance. The 77 inch model is repeatedly described as the latest model year at a standout price, with some checkout totals landing around $1,530 before tax and lower after stacked discounts. Main tradeoffs are Dolby Vision support, Samsung's DTS and app quirks, and return or warranty hassles that can erase some of the savings.

  • The deal can stack with EPP discounts and additional promo mechanics, producing checkout totals around the low-$1,000s for some buyers.

  • The S90F can deliver more vivid, accurate colors and stronger upscaling for non-4K content than competing LG OLED models.

  • The S90F can be far brighter in Game Mode, which helps in brighter rooms during gaming sessions.

  • The 77-inch model can arrive with white-glove delivery and a damage warranty option, which can reduce purchase risk.

  • The coupon and promo codes can fail to validate for some education or partner accounts, preventing the expected discount.

  • Samsung's return logistics can be difficult, and return paths may be constrained depending on shipping versus pickup.

  • The built-in smart TV experience can be slow or problematic, including cases where uninstalling Samsung Plus is needed for normal functionality.

  • DTS passthrough can require an aftermarket audio extractor or splitter, which can limit DTS playback options compared with setups expecting eARC DTS.

I use jellyfin for my media server. I was planning to go with the LG C5 65" but I'm going to seriously consider the S90F. It looks like a lot of my content is HDR10(+) or DV. If I get the S90F I'll have to grab an AppleTV or Nvidia shield to some other box. I guess DTS passthrough isn't a problem since I have to upgrade my receiver too.

And will affect probably 0.5% of people here. Kind of like the microcenter deals that end up front page and almost nobody can get them because they are in store only.
I believe this also work for military and retirees. That expands the group beyond EPP. If you're not eligible maybe read it and move on.

Now this is a silly opinion. Almost no one tries to claim Dolby Vision looks much better than HDR10+. They are absolutely nearly the same thing. The only real claims people make are:

1) Dolby Vision has much wider support than HDR10+. It's hard to find HDR10+ content basically anywhere, Dolby Vision is everywhere. Drastic difference.

2) That Dolby Vision looks a lot better than HDR10. But while this was definitely true on older OLEDs this is contested a lot on modern TV's to also be a minor difference
Straight up lies. Almost every streaming service has support for hdr10+ now and all new movie releases can be streamed in that format as well. You could have made that availability argument a few years ago but things have changed drastically. Hdr10+ is more impressive imo. I have a g5 but I still think my s90d is more impressive

Worth it to go from 65 s90c(moddef to 95c) to 77 s90f for about a 1000 after selling, thinking probably not?

I got the 77" for $1700 about 20 days ago. Does Samsung have price protection? 😟
A Samsung CS told me there is price protection for 15 days, and you need to ask for it at the time of purchase.

This is wild, I paid $1,230 on a Black Friday deal for the 65" S90D last year. How are these getting cheaper?
Tvs should get cheaper over time when the tech becomes common

Was able to get it by creating a new account with work email and then ask a rep via chat to enroll you to EPP specifically. Just ask nicely. Hope it helps
