This G Shock connected fitness watch stands out as a budget friendly running and step tracking option with Casio's newer display tech and a two year battery life. It can be worn without a phone, then sync recorded runs later, and it may work with Strava. The watch does not have GPS, so distance relies on calibration and arm swing estimates, and Bluetooth appears limited to periodic step tracker updates. The lack of Tough Solar is the main drawback, making it a practical pick if you can live without full smartwatch features.
Runners who want workout tracking without carrying a phone, because it can record a run offline and sync the data later.
People who prefer a simple sports watch over a phone-like wrist device, because it has a two-year battery life.
Wearers who want a readable fitness watch with a sharper screen, because it uses newer display tech that looks better.
Athletes who only need occasional step syncing, because Bluetooth is mainly used to update the tracker about monthly.
People who want solar charging for low-maintenance battery life, because this watch lacks Tough Solar.
Owners expecting rich Bluetooth features, because the watch is not listed as supported by the Bluetooth-enhancing apps.
Distance runners who depend on built-in GPS, because this watch does not have GPS.
Wearers who want a bright always-on MIP display, because this model uses a negative MIP display.

There are F-Droid apps that really enhance the Bluetooth on G-Shock watches.
Unfortunately this one isn't listed as supported yet.
It may be new as this looks a lot like the GBD-H1000 that is supported.
