This is an awesome game. If you're into Pokemon but wanting some more innovation and effort from the devs, this fits the bill. And the metroidvania aspect is there -- basically each monster has its own world ability (ex: it can light fires, let you fly in the air, activate a water orb, etc.) and you use these abilities to explore the world and backtrack for items and paths you couldn't get to before.

Absolute steal for $2.

This is a good game. It does have a bit of a slow start, but it develops into an interesting team RPG with alot of individual character customization and team construction. It becomes pretty detailed when building teams to take on bosses and arena fights. My 8 year old really enjoyed the game playing through it, with me helping just occasionally. I particularly enjoyed the end game content. It was alot deeper and more challenging than I expected. The game itself can be customized too, can make it easier/harder and can also speed up the fights. That last option was big for me, as I grow older I have little time to watch repetitive attack effects in RPGs. This game could go up to something like x4 speed.

Alot to like with this one.

My neighbor recently opened a Monster Sanctuary. One minute I'm watering my tomatoes, the next a six-eyed gremlin named "Pickles" is raiding my garden like it's an AYKE buffet. The neighbor swears the creatures are "mostly harmless," right before a winged buffalo thing tries to roost on my car like it's a hatchling waiting to be fed. And every morning I wake up to the soothing sounds of a swamp ogre gargling in their backyard pond. Apparently that's its mating call! Honestly, it's like living next to a fantasy zoo run by someone who thinks OSHA is a cryptid. But hey, at least the local kids stopped cutting across my yard.
