This open box Zotac RTX 4080 Super White Edition stands out mainly as a white high end card with a strong cooler at a price that is hard to match in that color. Performance is described as roughly on par with a 5070 Ti, with the 4080 Super sometimes a little faster in raster or ray tracing heavy games, while the 5070 Ti is said to have newer DLSS features and better overclocking headroom. The main concerns are the open box warranty, Zotac's customer service and RMA reputation, and the fact that a new 5070 Ti can be found near the same price. It is a niche fit if the white build matters most.

  • The open-box RTX 4080 Super can deliver strong ray tracing and path tracing performance in specific heavy titles.

  • The RTX 4080 Super can benefit from full DLSS 4 support and newer feature sets compared with older cards.

  • The RTX 4080 Super may offer a performance edge in Borderlands 4 across multiple presets based on Hardware Unboxed benchmarks.

  • The deal can be attractive for buyers who want a white GPU with a high-end cooler at this price point.

  • The open-box RTX 4080 Super may not be worth paying extra when a new RTX 5070 Ti is near $750 with a full warranty.

  • The RTX 4080 Super performance advantage over the RTX 5070 Ti may be small in some raster-heavy benchmarks, with results closer than "significantly faster."

  • The RTX 4080 Super may have PHYSX limitations depending on game support, with 32-bit PhysX titles being the affected set.

  • Zotac warranty and RMA handling can be a risk, including reports of RMA denial for an RTX 5070 Ti.

No reason to buy this over a 5070ti

5070ti is around the same price, nearly as fast, has newest dlss features, and you'll get a full warranty
Plus it comes in a closed box. Jerkoff's too lazy to close it on these.

AI? No, more like Hardware Unboxed's own benchmarks in their BL4 performance video:
Cyberpunk with pathtracing, it's not true. The 5070ti holds without +/-5% which is generally 3-4 fps.

Borderlands 4 is an unoptimized mess. The additional computer units on the 4080 let's it brute force more when doing raster. But Hardware Unboxed is always a mess with their reviews showing settings gamers don't run. They always put everything to Ultra settings even on mid ranged cards. With NVIDIA just let GeForce Experience dial in the settings. And the 5070ti runs DLSS4 better than the 4080 can be do more than 2x frame gen.

Look at reviews that cover a wider range of games and you'll see see the +/-5% performance. Ideally the 5070ti should be beating the 4080 Super by 10-15%. So if you are already on RTX 4000, just sit out this generation. That's what happens when AMD offers no competition at the top end.

If my PC only has PCIe4.0, there is really no reason for me to go with a 5 series card right? Would be upgrading from a 1080ti.

Seems weird that they ever removed support for it on 50 series. I guess they didn't want 32-bit CUDA anymore... https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/...-of-games/

if you just care about perf then just get a normal 5070 ti but if you want an aesthetic white gpu then this is a pretty decent deal.

perf wise the 4080s is about on par with a 5070 ti even slightly faster stock although the 5070 ti can overclock better than the 4080s so if you are into overclocking then the 5070 ti is a bit faster. still can't get a white 5070 ti with a high end cooler for this price
