If you or someone you know has experienced a house fire due to electrical issues you learn the value of UL certification. Personally, it's not worth saving $10-$20 on something that stays connected to an electrical outlet all the time and hasn't undergone stringent UL testing and certification. Amazon is flooded with cheap untested products. I still buy some of these non UL listed products but I don't leave them plugged in while we are sleeping or away. UL certification doesn't guarantee no fires but it does significantly reduce the risk.

I wonder if it was a bad outlet not the charger itself

I got offered to get a BASEUS product for free once for a review and the person flipped and said they'd refund me if I left a 1 star review. I didn't love it so I spite gave it a 5 and kept it, but just an FYI that some 1 stars are maybe false

I literally see the verified purchase flag. Maybe it depends if you are looking at the 40w or 20w?

It shows as verified to me. "
The Fire department determined the Baseus device was faulty and set the couch on fire, they have the item in their possession."

Got one for use around the house. You never have enough of extension cords. This one is much more.

Except that the length of the cord is nowhere to be found, or how much current it can carry.

sympathy with the victim of a house fire, one of my nightmares. However, there is a whole rats nest of extensions cords in one of the pictures. Was it really the Baseus power strip?

Yeah. The reviewer claims there was only one thing plugged in. In the picture there is a ton of cord and it looks like the plug was under a pillow. Don't stick electrical under a pillow.
