Definitely stay away from REL. They give only a 3 year warranty because their subs are low quality and they know they dont last. One of mine developed a hum even when there is no signal. Of course I was out of warranty (just thought they would be 5 years, my mistake) but contacted to see if they can give me any help. I was hoping for a replacement amp for around cost but tgey wanted $400 plus shipping. Considering I got free shipping on the original purchase it would have cost as much for the replacement amp as the new sub cost me.

They had zero desire to help me. They give a shorter warranty so they dont have to cover the problems they create by cutting corners and they turn that into a profit maker by trying to overcharge for replacement parts. I will never buy REL again and would definitely not recommend them.

You're in for a treat. 2 of these for $1400 is a bargain - probably the best bass per dollar on the market.
I've been enjoying mine for over a year now.

Since I ordered two 16's, and they still haven't arrived (were supposed to be here Wed, and now I have no delivery date) maybe just get two 14's and send whichever back actually arrives sescond?
The 14" is 98% as good as the 16", but it's not going to be worth it to return the 16's. The boxes are enormous and very difficult to move.

I'm in the same situation though ordered one RP1600. The delivery has been delayed 3 times as ups is refusing to deliver a large package. And yes I'm not exaggerating that part. I just hung up with adorama and explained the issue to them as the shipper / seller.

Due to this delay I'm considering ordering 2x RP1400 instead of the one RP1600 that is in shipping limbo. Any thoughts?

That is not how SPL and circular driver cone area works.

Here's a wonder…. I ordered a set of the RP8000, two pair of RP600m, and the RP504c. Then added a single RP1600sw from the deals last week, though I truly wanted two 12s. Yet with the pricing of the 16 inch I bought one of those instead. It truly is too big though… why not?At this point I don't have my order from adorama yet. UPS has delayed it almost a week. Am I better off with 2x RP1400s at this deal price or 1x of the RP1600?
Yes definitely

This or rel ht1205 ? I also listen 2ch music ..
Thanks for the input, everyone. I guess what I'm really asking is: which of those subs would be the best all‑around option? I love watching movies, but I also spend a couple of hours listening to music. The setup is in my living room, so it's not a dedicated home theater.

How so? Originally I was considering 4x RP1000s since my receiver can do 13.4. I only went with the one RP1600 due to pricing last week and the RP1400 wasn't even available…. It said back order to next year!
if I truly 'need' a second sub, which I doubt due to my new theater space/area, I can get another RP1600 though the size worries me the most. My current plan is to have the sub behind the couch and none in the center/ screen wall space.

REL is the Bose of subs. They are the ONLY sub manufacturer I know of that wants you to run your speakers full-range alongside their subs (i.e. "Large" in your receiver settings) purportedly for "better integration" but that imo is just a sorry excuse for their subs being miserably underpowered and underperforming despite the deliberately inflated-to-impress pricetags. (Deliberately inflated prices plus cute-and-petite form factor is THE signature of all "lifestyle" products' marketing-driven design.)
Well you might not want to consider premium RCs like Dirac DLBC/ART, Trinnov, Room Perfect!

Good thing I resisted going with the 16" one last week. In for 2 of these. Can't wait for some window rattling fun!

Grabbed 2 myself. Solid subs for the money. I also used a cashback site to get another 2.5% cashback.

A subwoofer is just like a engagement ring...

You want it BIG and DIRTY.

Mainly depends on your expectations.
Having experience with both, I vote for the cleaner articulation sound of the RSL.
Thank you. Been running a Klipsch Sub-12HG for more than ten years (got it for $200 on a Slickdeals sale back in 2014). I already think that thing has plenty of kick, but recently been upgrading my setup, picked up three KEF Q350 speakers (using third as a center channel for now) and was debating on a subwoofer upgrade. Mostly will use this for music (listen to pretty much all genres), and occasional movies.
I'm sure either would be a huge upgrade, but the RSL also seems a tiny bit smaller dimensions wise.
