They had zero desire to help me. They give a shorter warranty so they dont have to cover the problems they create by cutting corners and they turn that into a profit maker by trying to overcharge for replacement parts. I will never buy REL again and would definitely not recommend them.
I've been enjoying mine for over a year now.

I paid $1000 to the RP1000 and plan to have that behind the couch. The other alternatives are 2x RP1400, one in the front near the right speaker and the other behind the couch, or two RP1400 both in the front by the left / right speakers.
Then I keep thinking it's $400 more! Than what I already paid and the possible hassle of returning the RP1600.

Insanely unlucky timing on my part. I had the sub in my damn cart with the coupon applied, and then it went away. Crazy.
Don't feel too bad, everyone gets fleeced once in a while. 😉
Having very capable speakers that can handle lower frequency bass is actually good/preferred.
The integration of the higher bass frequencies happens constantly, whereas low frequency is sporadic & often very short in duration.
That's why higher end RCs(ie Dirac,Trinnov,Room Perfect) ideally ask for reference speakers in all positions.
If you chose to believe in the pitch to let your sub(s) handle all the bass frequencies, is your choice.
Bottom line is that you have to pay an arm and a leg for TRULY "full range" speakers which usually require another arm and leg for adequate amplification to actually pull it off, and even then it would barely sound much better than a well chosen pair of speakers crossed over to a decent sub powered by an entry level AVR that costs a fraction as much.
The ONLY time that even makes sense is if you did a ton of critical music listening...for mostly HT use it is comically inane.
As I have already said in my previous post, no XO is a brick wall, only a slope. And there is no such thing as a "correct" XO point (as long as you don't choose one too low for the speaker's bass limits causing damage to it next time there's some huge explosion or rumble during some dumb action flick), you pick whatever sounds best to YOUR ears with whatever source you're using at any given moment. Yes, it's SUBJECTIVE, just like most things in life.
It's not necessary to turn this silly hobby into some OCD-nerd wang-measuring contest. 🙄
Thee biggest confirmation bias there is are measurements!
If they had much relevance on how something would sound/perform, no one would come in here and ask for a comparison or audition anything!
People who come onto this site to ask for buying advice don't even know what measurements are.
People who are measurement Kool Aid drinkers don't ask strangers for such advice, they either choose based on their own canned certitude about what they THINK measurements "prove" about some speakers they're interested in, or they go to that measurement-cultist echo chamber website, Audio Science Review forum, and ask their fellow cultists.

SVS does have "free" return shipping which is built into their pricing, so their $1500 sub is roughly equivalent to a $1000-1200 sub from Hsu or PSA.
Seems you TRULY understand the benefits of full range/reference speakers, that doesn't change for music or HT!
I would argue all this subwoofer and crossovers are way more important with HT.
I know with my well chosen reference speakers I don't need/use a sub.
As I mentioned if you want to buy the pitch you only need well chosen speakers in only certain positions(ie LCR)in HT use & just let your sub do the heavy lifting, that is you prerogative.
BTW what REL recommends is not a brick wall either, it's irrelevant to performance.
