Is this actually a good deal? How does it compare to the $169 overdrive set with more pieces?

Hard to justify this price when you can go to Harbor Freight.

These are a rebrand of MAC Tools RBRT (USAG) advertised at a slightly lower spec for rounded fastener removal: RBRT 80% vs Overdrive 70%, made in Taiwan.

I own the larger version of this (154-piece previous FP deal) for self-service on a 1990 Harley Davidson FXRS-CONV and a 2023 KTM Super Duke GT. Literally one of the few things I own that I have zero complaints with, they are fantastic. Has no problem removing some of the factory original bolts that have rounded over the years on the Harley.

If you want "old USA Craftsman" quality this is it, it's likely only made in Taiwan due to the RBRT patent being held there. The QC is excellent, the gunmetal chrome is awesome to look at and feels great. Also, they are heavy.

The design of the ratchets means they're not low profile/slim so I do have a couple of smaller Icon wrenches for tight spaces like between the engine and frame.

Made in Taiwan is superior than anything Made in China. They are not the same, and people often make the mistake of equating the two.

Also, for those lucky enough, I also had a digital coupon for $9 off, so I bit. I don't need it now, but I might one day. AKA, the SD Effect.
