A Macbook Pro with a nonpro CPU is mid. Save your money and get a Macbook air, maybe one with an older processor. Once you're up to Pro, then it makes some sense, but Max is the way to go when stepping up to the Pro models.
Also, M5, M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra is stupid when the Macbooks are Air and Pro. Stupid overlap and confusion.

I thought this way, until I tried using a MBA outside. I don't need tons of CPU power, but I really love the bright screen.

got the M5 MBP 14 inch its a beast of a machine and battery life is amazing two days of full use about 18 hours and still have 30%

16GB or 24GB RAM? Can't decide. Upgrading from an MBP 2018 Intel i5 16GB/512GB. Software engineer by profession, although I use my work laptop for the heavy lifting work. Thanks!

Got my MBP in 2022, an M1 Pro, also with 16GB and 512GB hard drive. Hard to believe 1TB isn't the standard by now, but then I remembered it's Apple.
