Every time my wife and I get a new color of fiestaware, we go for a 10.5" dinner plate, 9" luncheon plate, 28 oz gusto bowl, and 12 oz java mug instead of the way these four piece sets are packaged, for the following reasons:

1. 10.5" dinner plate - no change

2. 9" luncheon plate - can be used as a food plate OR a saucer for a bowl more easily than the 7.25" salad plate for only $2 more cost

3. 28 oz gusto bowl - can fit an entire can of Progresso soup OR an entire 10.5 oz Campbell's condensed can plus a 10.5 oz can of water OR you can cram a block of Ramen into it plus seasoning and 1-1/2 cups of water, all things you can't do with the 19 oz bowl

4. 12 oz java mug - Two oz bigger and the handle is much easier to grab than the 10 oz one included with the set

I have been using and collecting Fiesta for almost 20 years. I do not need another plate setting, but I will look to see if there are other items I may want.

We have had Fiesta for almost 8 years and we are a fan. I was actually looking at the deal that I got from Slickdeals in Jan 2018 and I paid $16 for a 5-piece set, that included all 4 of these items plus a small cup saucer. I am aware of inflation and possible tarrifs, but wanted to provide that price as reference. I have not seen Fiesta on sale lately, so maybe this is a good price for the present.

Agree. Replaced all our small mugs with Java mugs. We still have the bowls the set came with, which are fine for breakfast cereal, but also bought a bunch of medium size bistro bowls, which are a more versatile size.

I was at my local Dillard's this weekend and saw some 3 piece sets on clearance for $20, I'm sure this is very YMMV, but might be worth checking out. I looked online and there doesn't appear to be a corresponding deal there. Meadow, Lapis, and Daffodil were the colors available as I recall.

Yes! This was around the time I was doing a kitchen renovation and those deals introduced me to Fiestaware. They were too good to pass up.

Companies in general have cut corners and made their products cheaper and more shoddy.over the years, yet Fiestaware continues to maintain the same level of durability. They know that if they tried to pull the same thing, people would notice when they put their newer colors/products in the same stack as their older colors/products!

Fiestaware is great quality stuff, and you pay a premium for it (Made in the USA (West Virginia) if you care about that). Personally, I would prefer to buy separate pieces and get exactly what I want over getting sets like these that typically have at least one or two pieces I don't find a use for.

Another person who has happily used Fiestaware for over 20 years, and this seems like a pretty meh deal to me.

The 3-piece sets (dinner plate, salad plate, bowl) in Classic Rim or Bistro are $40 every day through Fiesta's site. [fiestafactorydirect.com] The set linked in this deal also comes with a mug, but I had four of these mugs for many years and never used them because the handle can only fit one finger. Not only is it generally less comfortable than larger handles, but if you pre-heat the mug and have hot liquid in it, the ceramic can get quite hot against the lower hand contact point. I personally went notNeutral years ago, and I'll never use another ceramic/porcelain mug.

I got 8x 3-piece settings of Bistro for $29.37 per setting (not including credit card rewards) when Linen launched earlier this year. If you join their newsletter, you'll get promo codes and notified of other sales, and you can use credit card promos like the current Freedom/PayPal 5% off to knock even more off. I had an item crack in transit, and they immediately shipped a replacement for free after I emailed them a picture.

I purchased my entire dinnerware set plus some during that Macy's sale. Koles also had a similar price around that time.
