This is one of the few third party gamepads that can wake the Switch 2 (along with the 8bitdo Ultimate 2 Wireless, 8bitdo Pro 3, Gulikit ES/Elves2, and a couple pricier options), and one of even fewer that has TMR analog sticks, HD Rumble, and Amiibo support.

The Verge chose the EasySMX S10 as its top Switch 2 controller: https://www.theverge.com/tech/791...ontrollers

However, input latency is relatively high on the sticks, possibly due to the relatively large default dead zone: https://gamepadla.com/easysmx-s10.html

FWIW, I ordered the EasySMX S10 today, so I haven't had any hands on experience as of yet. I have tried the Gulikit alternatives and wasn't happy with them (quality control issues, poor rumble, short wireless range/dropped connections) and don't really want to spend more on 8bitdo controllers (I have several that work well with the Switch 1, but haven't gotten firmware updates to wake the Switch 2).

Good write-up! This sounds like a great controller from my research, the only thing I don't love is no charging dock.

I have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 but can't get it to pair with Switch 2 over Bluetooth even after firmware update. (It works via dongle, but I use the dongle with my PC.) Am I doing something wrong? Swear I saw videos of people BT pairing my exact 8bitdo with Switch 2.

I have the 8bitdo Ultimate 2C (which didn't get the firmware updated to wake the Switch 2), but have you tried an initial pairing via a wired USB connection? There are so many different products under the Ultimate label though, with slightly different functionality/compatibility.

Didn't try wired, only dongle. I will try with a wire. I have the purple one. If I have to buy a different one, I will. But prefer not obviously.

Still no luck, actually didn't work wired at all for some reason. Will have to stick to the dongle till I can get one of their Switch specific ones with a dock.
