This four piece spackle knife set is best as a low cost scraper for spackling, paint overspray, and other light cleanup jobs. The blades fit small Dap DryDex containers, do not rust easily, and the larger sizes add more flexibility for general use. The set is not suited to drywall mudding, skim coats, or plastering, and the thin blades can feel cheap, flex a lot, or even cut hands on the sharp edges. It is a basic utility set that works best for simple scraping and filling tasks.

Common Questions (4)

  • They are intended for spackling, scraping, and taping, not for drywall mudding or skim coats. The blades can flex, especially on larger sizes, so they are better suited to light scraping and filling than finish-coat work.

  • It can be used for scraping paint overspray, burnt residue off a griddle, and general woodwork filling or other light scraping jobs. The second-smallest blade also fits nicely in 8 oz Dap DryDex spackle containers.

  • The set is described as decent quality, but the deal is only about $1 below the everyday price. That makes it a better value if you want a cheap backup set than if you are waiting for a deeper discount.

  • The blades reportedly do not rust, which makes cleanup easier. They still should be wiped dry after use to help prevent rust over time.

How flexible are they? I'm looking for some that are very flexible to use with 3d printing.
Flexibility increases with size; the smallest is not very flexible.

Do people actually think they're going to be able to do drywall with these? Where are all the larger size knives for finish coats over seems?

hmmm, amazon order history shows i ordered these twice, i wonder where i put them lol. i was gonna buy another one too.
Same here I know I bought more, and some chisels but they get left in a box where that project was; waiting for me to gather them up. Need more time putting away instead of shopping for more.

Not for 3d printing. You'll have to sharpen the edge to pick prints off. Better just to print a scraper.
