Bought this for kid's desktop back in September at this price. Much better quality than the redragon setup she had prior.

I have this keyboard on my test bench. I appreciate that each key is backlit instead of the entire keyboard chassis like on many cheap keyboards. In my opinion, that style makes the key characters harder to see.

I used this mouse + keyboard combo when I first built my gaming PC. Excellent value, great choice for anyone on a budget who just wants a backlit keyboard and doesn't care about mechanical switches.

Came to add to the list of comments here .. I bought the "devastator 2" version of this ages ago from newegg, $25 for board/mouse combo and it worked out great for the kids (bought two keyboard/mice combos).. gave it away only because I upgraded to "prettier" keyboards but the keyboards were still working fine - the mice worked just fine too, still have them sitting as backups in my drawer (obviously for the price it's going to be a somewhat cheap lightweight feeling mouse compared to say a $30 on sale reddragon mouse but it gets the job done)

Go mechanical. I loathe the years I wasted using cheap keyboards and mice

Are you sure about that?

I'm using this keyboard right now on my new PC while I am building it. I find the backlight on the keyboard is annoying and washes out the individual keys.

I went in the opposite direction. I was using this keyboard on my main PC. Didn't like how it was backlit. Upgraded to a Redragon K580 VATA mechanical keyboard. Granted, the K580 is a ~$50 keyboard so it should be better.

Thanks for that now I know about a good keyboard in the $50 range ... honestly our "upgrade" keyboards were a whole $20 during a Black Friday sale years ago before inflation and so forth (rosewill keyboards ) but they've worked out surprisingly well for us.. on one of the two keyboards my daughter reported one of the buttons was starting to stick but that was four years later (not bad for $20 in my opinion ) and the other one is still going strong despite heavy use close to six years later I'm actually typing on it right now .. they don't sell them anymore (Rosewill NEON K52)
