The Casper Essential Pillow comes across as a soft, plush standard pillow that can work well for side and back sleepers, with enough support to keep necks aligned and a feel that stays firmer longer than some cheap pillows. It is also described as a decent value at the $9 price, especially compared with the original Casper pillows. The main drawbacks are that it is dry clean only, has no removable cover, and can get lumpy or feel too thick for some sleepers. The outer shell is also reported to be loud and plastic like, so it is a better fit if you want a simple, affordable pillow and do not mind extra care.

  • The pillow can be adjustable for comfort by removing some foam or using a different insert height.

  • The pillow can feel soft and cozy while still providing adequate neck support for alignment.

  • The pillow can stay fluffy or firm longer than some cheaper options after initial use.

  • The pillow can be workable for side sleeping because it is firm yet soft enough to scrunch.

  • The pillow is dry-clean-only, and that cleaning limitation can make stains hard to remove.

  • The pillow may not have a removable cover, which can increase the hassle of keeping it clean.

  • The pillow can feel too thick or uncomfortable for some necks until foam settles or is adjusted.

  • The outer shell can feel loud or plastic-y and may create a bothersome noise.

Let us know if you find one
I ended up folding up a blanket and putting it in a pillow case. Firm but soft enough to scrunch up when I want it for side sleeping. It's ideal for me, really.

we have 4 of these. personally i LOVE them. my wife thinks they are mid.

they are soft and get lumpy over time much like down pillows without the heat and the stabbing in your face of the feathers.

i love pillows i sink into a bit.

I've been searching for years and still on the hunt for the perfect pillow. Tried these and they weren't anything special. Price is ok though for what it is
mbdsmith, I was in the same boat as you. However, I have been happy with this one EVERY night for 2 years so far. https://purple.com/pillows/harmonyI highly recommend just getting the King size and getting the official pillow case as well. There is height preference. I'll be honest. I ended up getting low, medium and tall that year. Tall was for my wife while pregnant due to GERD. Medium was mine. I was deciding between small or medium. But medium was perfect for me. Some people like it flat but supportive that was "small"My toddler ended up using the small. And it kept his head space round growing up. This Black Friday I ended up splurging and buying my other kiddos the same pillow. Just to use for sleeping. Stays cool. Comfortable. Doesn't lose its shape overtime. Read instructions on cleaning.

+1 for buckwheat
Agreed. Been using one for almost 30 years.

Plus it's like pulling out an RPG in a pillow fight.

I assume at this price, it's just filled with the shredded returns of their $1,000 mattresses

i know what your going through. First of all the matress is pretty important and no pillow will help if you are sinking in too much and your body is not correctly aligned, but assuming you do have a good matress, i went through tens of pillows till i took a chance on these a few years ago and i still love them, i have to fluff them a bit every night by shaking it up a little but they are really worth every dollar of the $25 (4x$25=$100). standard, firm (for side/back sleepers), 4 pack https://www.amazon.com/Ella-Jayne...R6G6G?th=1

The fill. Not poly fill and not foam.. So not this

Down / down alternative style fills
Depends on the person, heavy memory foam pillows are where I have found the best sleep but I am definitely an outlier.
