The Chromebook Duet Gen 9 stands out as a fast, lightweight Chrome OS tablet for browsing, Android apps, schoolwork, and secondary use. The 8GB memory version is the better configuration, and the bundle includes a Lenovo USI 2.0 pen. It also gets praise for a brighter display, stronger front camera, louder volume, and a more solid keyboard than expected. The main limits are its floppy tablet hinge and angled stand, plus USB C display output is capped at one external monitor at a time. Long Chrome OS support through June 2034 adds to its appeal.
Common Questions (5)
It supports only one external monitor at a time from either USB-C port. The practical limit is up to 2560×1440 at around 60Hz, or one 4K display at about 30Hz; it cannot run two 2K monitors.
It can drop to $239.99 with a free Lenovo Pro signup, and the next-day on-site warranty upgrade can cost $0.01. Additional savings may stack with Lenovo Rewards or an Amex offer.
It supports Android apps and has an AUE date of June 2034, which gives it a long software-support runway. That combination makes it a strong value for browsing, Android apps, texting, and school or secondary-device use.
The bundle can include a Lenovo Pen with USI 2.0 support. That makes it more useful for note-taking, drawing, and schoolwork without needing to buy a separate stylus.
The Lenovo deal is the 8GB/128GB version, while Best Buy has a 4GB version. If you want more memory for multitasking, the Lenovo listing is the better configuration.

For use in an office, note the chipset is limited to (1) external monitor at a time from either of the Usb-C ports at a max of 2560 x 1440 at around 60Hz.

The extended software support timelines for Chrome OS along with their support for Android applications has fundamentally disrupted the Android tablet space. I'd suggest that a Chrome OS tablet like this Duet is a superior value proposition for any potential buyer of an Android tablet.
Good luck!

Is this considered a Chromebook plus for the added AI perks? I see that near the bottom of the page but I don't think this qualifies?

Great callout. I hopped on that deal as a backup device for traveling.

Its $239.99 if you sign up for Lenovo pro which is free and your employer isn't in the perks at work program for Lenovo. On top of that, you can upgrade to the 1 year next day on-site warranty from the standard 1 year mail-in warranty for only $0.01 with Lenovo Pro!
