They are selling membership gift packets (shopping bag and certificate) in store for $65 with a $30 bonus card.
I suspect those gift memberships don't have the same "must be a new member" restrictions but I'm not certain.


edit: took a photo of the sign in store today with terms:

Be aware, they allow you to apply the promo code without selecting auto renew. I went and turned on auto renew after the fact but that doesn't meet the terms, meaning I'll probably have to call and complain in 2 weeks when they don't send the gift card. I did take screenshots as evidence, worst case I have to cancel under the satisfaction guarantee.

Mine just expired in Nov. My wife signed up for this and received an email with the shopcard after 2weeks. While signing up, she forgot to select the auto renew but she enabled the autorenew manually right after her signup.

So I got a message that says ' we are not able to verify your membership online. Please visit your local Costco Warehouse or contact Customer Service to update your information.' Anyone get this message?

If I want to gift this to someone but keep the $40 shop card, will that shop card get sent to me separately, or should I use my own email and then later have them change it or what?
