A few years ago I bought new old stock USA made off of EBay. The new ones weigh about 1/3 of the Nashville Made ones. You sometimes can still find new in the box USA Stanleys's for around $45.

True. Originals had a glass lining...that could break if dropped (I know from experience). Not a problem with this version

My grandfather used the original until the glass cracked. It wasn't cheap back then either. This might weigh less, but it's a better design. I don't think consumer double steel hulled bottles were possible back then.

I picked one of these up around Black Friday for $23.78. I got it in the classic Hammertone Green, and it looks and performs great. It's definitely lighter weight than the model my dad used in the 70s-80s however.

As others have said, the originals were glass lined and heavier. They also had a Charcoal Vacuum lining later on which was good, and a Master Series that was very nicely made (and expensive) more recently, that seems to be discontinued. The sole remaining high-end line they have is Legendary Series, which appears to be very good, but not quite as high-end as the Master Series.
