Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank reicaden

Get a 5070ti instead and save 300$ imo. This card also has some crap cooling

Too bad the 5080 is the disappointment of the 5000 series. With these specs it should have been the 5070, not the 5080.

Edit: I guess the downvoters haven't read up on it? You don't have to believe me, just look at the charts for yourself.

Lol. The 5080 can easily be overclock to almost match a 4090.

And? Look, if the 5080 works for your needs, great, get it. That's not at all what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the relative positioning of the card- it should have been the 5070. As a 5070 it would have been a fine card. As a 5080 it's in a bad spot, relatively speaking. They are giving you less performance for more money, generation by generation. And I'm not some AMD shill, I have an RTX 3090 right now. Just look at the charts, it's obvious corporate shenanigans.

This card has one unique feature that everyone forget to mention.... two hardware decoders and two encoders, which helps a lot in handling multiple video streams. No other card other than 5090 has it

What's the actual deal here? It's MSRP and has been in stock for months now.
