Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is being treated as a thin yearly update that plays a lot like Black Ops 6, with vertical movement, familiar maps, and a heavy focus on online multiplayer. The SteelBook bundle stands out mainly for the collectible case, since similar listings are around $35 without it. The biggest knocks are the huge install size, broken local split screen, no campaign checkpoints, and a campaign that feels online only. The price also looks high for a game that is already dropping fast, making this a better fit only if the SteelBook matters to you.
Common Questions (5)
Several comments say to wait unless you want the SteelBook, because the game has already dropped fast and similar editions are around $35 without the case. A practical target mentioned is closer to $20, especially if you can try it through Game Pass first.
The campaign is reported to be online-only in co-op, with no pause and no checkpoints, so taking a break can risk losing progress. Local split-screen is also reported as broken, and one comment says solo campaign checkpoints cannot be saved locally.
It is described as very similar to Black Ops 6, with vertical movement and similar maps, while older classic maps are the main thing that helps it stand out. One comment also says Black Ops 6 is the better game overall.
Amazon and GameStop are reported to have the game for about $35 without the SteelBook, while this deal is $39.99 with the SteelBook. That makes a price match uncertain, since the cheaper listings are for a different package.
The game is reported to take about 320 GB, which is a major concern if you only want multiplayer or don't play Warzone or the campaign. That size can quickly fill a console or PC drive.

Played this game for 2 matches. Couldn't play it anymore. It's pure garbage.
