- USB-C is very uncommon for e-bike charging. Ampler is one of the few (only?) manufacturer that makes bikes that will charge with USB-C.
- Charging is slow. Ampler bikes have a small battery (rated 50-100 km). It takes 3 hours to charge to 100% at 140W - so maybe 15 km charged per hour.
- The small Ampler e-bike batteries are 75% larger than this battery. After charging losses, it probably won't charge the e-bike more than about 50% which will take 1+ hour.
That's not nothing and might be helpful in a pinch, and this is a very portable battery at 4 lbs. Just understand it's sized more for laptops and small devices, phones etc - for charging multiple e-bikes you will probably want a much larger battery with multiple outputs for charging at the same time.Leave a Comment
