Some other colors are discounted but not quite as much. "Cranberry" and "Azure" are also $20 though.

Curious why everyone wants this Stanley brand? The "same thing" can be had for $5 from other brands. What an I missing? Is there a difference or is this another yeti cup situation?

I have a no-name brand 16 oz cup and a HydroFlask one, that look identical. The HydroFlask one noticeably outperforms the generic one. I use a Stanley now (bought at a significant discount), and it works extremely well, though I haven't directly compared to something like RTIC or the generic varieties. It looks like the RTIC ones are actually more expensive ($24) than the cheapest, discounted prices at Amazon. $20 is a decent price for a 30 oz; $40 is outrageous.

Yeti is built a little better, but the big dumb cups movement is just about over. It was a thing. Some things catch fire and they can't be explained. There are retro air Jordan's that had people camping overnight in the snow about 13 years ago that are still around weeks later now. Ike Dunks were impossible to keep in stores. They're in Ross and Nike outlets now. The only Stanley I owned before the madness was a 32oz food jar. I liked it. I own a few cups and only buy them when they're cheap like this. A good place to buy them is from Home Goods. Some were $15 there. 40oz cups were as low as $20. I saw one in Ross for $18 for a 40oz. I've tried a lot of brands. Stanley is made well. I've not used a $5 cup that was just as good. The Ozark Trail is nice for the price. That's about as low as I'll go.

Not the tumbler like these. The straw is ass, and I'd prefer a lid that screws down. But other than that it's fine.

I had a 40oz silver RTIC cup with the slide lid. I paid $10 for it. Used to keep it full of orange Vanilla Coke. It was the best. Kept the drinks cold for days. Then I got diabeetus. I don't even know where that cup is now since I left that life in the past.

You arent missing anything. It is DOUBLE WALLED, which is inferior to triple or even 4 walled bottles. A $17 Swell bottle will outperform 99.9% of any Stanley by a long shot. It's not even as simple as double vs triple wall, size matters for amount of insulation as well. I did however find that a super small Swell (9-12 oz) that is rated much lower than other Swell bottles STILL has better insulation than double wall bottles like Stanley and RTIC. Also who wants to drink out of plastic straw in this day and age lol
