This is a solid deal. Most of the PCs at this price are previous Gen Intel chips and or they're built by companies you never heard of.

I own this. It's a nice starter/mid-tier gaming PC that can handle any modern game (think Doom: The Dark Ages, or the current Call of Duty) at 1080p at high quality settings, and 1440p when dropping down to 60fps in those games, but same quality. Trying to game at 4k isn't as great, the graphic's card is a bit too underpowered (and short on VRAM, 8gigs) for that and load times are longer than other machines we own, but this is a great price for a machine so nicely built and cleanly laid out - so despite it's built-in limitations, it's a fantastic starting point (and enough for many people)

May be a decent chip and price for today, but when you want to upgrade, you'll likely to be restricted to a same or next gen CPU only. Safer to go AM5 (Ryzen) and you'll have much more choice for years to come.

How so? Ryzen AM5 is going to be this gen and next gen CPU only. AM6 is coming, expected in 2026/2027.

You're not wrong on the core thought process, but Ryzen is not really that much better. And most people don't upgrade that quickly anyway, so most would end up buying a new MB and RAM anyway too.

I would think this one is better. The CPU isn't soldered on like the AMD. More USB ports and a roomier case.

I'd assume that lga 1851 will be here for at least the next 3-5 years. That's about average. This pc is very upgradable. I know first hand.

I really want to buy me this one.. It should be more than enough to handle video playing and movies.. I don't buy PCs to play video games.

Yes, nice entry level gaming desktop here.

Anyone have thoughts on how this compares to the recent Lenovo Legion desktop deal?

Considering AMD released new AM4 CPU's this year, It's likely you'll still get new CPUs far longer than going Intel.

That might be the case Fly Guy, but with AMD brought out AM4 in 2016 and still releasd a CPU in 2025, 9 years later. That's double or triple the life of Intel.
