The IronWolf Pro 14TB stands out as a strong value for NAS storage, with a much better price per terabyte than smaller drives and a steep discount for an enterprise class HDD. It is also described as very quiet in some setups, even quieter than WD Ultrastar drives, and the helium filled model is listed at 20 to 26 dB. The main hesitation is noise and compatibility concerns, since other IronWolf Pro drives have been heard clunking loudly and the model is not on one Ugreen compatibility list. It is a solid capacity play if quiet operation and backup planning matter.
Home NAS builders adding a large media archive, because 14TB gives a much better price per terabyte than smaller drives.
Quiet-server builders placing storage near a living room, because the drive can be extremely quiet in a two-bay NAS under a TV.
NAS owners wanting enterprise capacity without waiting for a better sale, because this 14TB drive is viewed as a strong near-term deal.
Light-duty home NAS setups, because the drive can be loud enough to hear throughout the house.
People who want a single-drive setup with no backup plan, because a NAS drive still calls for a second copy of important data.
Buyers who need a drive that is already on their NAS compatibility list, because this model may not be listed for some enclosures.

I've been looking to add another 14tb drive to my NAS and I don't think we'll see a better deal than this on an enterprise HDD any time in the near future.
