They're OK. Most 8bitdo controllers now have either Hall Effect or TMR joysticks, so stick drift will never happen. These PowerA controllers still use standard potentiometers, so they could develop stick drift eventually. My PowerA GameCube controller is still working perfectly after several hundred hours of Smash Ultimate.
All 8bitdo controllers are rechargeable while this one requires two AA batteries.
Not sure if firmware updates are even a thing on these controllers, but my PowerA GameCube controller from 2019 works perfectly with Switch 2 (doesn't wake from sleep though).
In any case, this is an excellent themed "player 2" controller, but for the same price or even less, you could get an Ultimate 2C.

OTOH I now own three 8BitDo controllers and all three work perfectly a year and a half later.

Power A wired controllers introduce an unacceptable level of latency for most people even vs their own wireless model. I still found them (wired) okay for many single player games.
