I got a variant of this a few weeks ago, the la492, which is supposed to be newer despite the lower model #. Not too sure of all the differences but it has the same form factor. Can't speak to longevity yet but so far I'm pretty impressed with it. Seems to pick up well, and more importantly doesn't seem to kick around small particles like hard rice, works well on hard wood and carpet. The front light is nice.
The detachable canister does make it easier to get under the couch and stuff but not sure how often I will use it. Seems like a missed opportunity to add wheels to the detachable canister so it can easily drag behind the wand like a traditional canister vacuum, but not a deal breaker.
Doesn't have cord rewind and I guess due to the design, the cord wrap is only like 1/3 the length of the vacuum. Again not a huge deal just takes a bit longer to wrap the cord after use. Has a docking spot for both included attachments which is nice as well.
It's fairly light for a full corded vacuum as well.
It has an auto mode to detect carpet/hardwood which seems to work well but also allows you to set it manually.
The scent pods seem a bit gimmicky but it does emit a pleasant odor when running. You can adjust the strength, guessing turning it down means the pod will last longer. Not sure I will spend money to replace them though.
