You have to pay to even save the video? Ridiculous. It can't be saved locally?

The doorbell is has inconsistent connection issue. I tried plugging in multiple area of sync module around house. Finally just upgraded to google nest mesh system. Still a bit laggy on live view but at least loads . I have further away outdoor cams I need to setup I expect it'll be same issue

I'm grandfatherd in to subscriptions, def would not pay for it and would recommend going eufy.

On that note, not a bad price to upgrade and get a new 4 outdoor camera; I was looking for eufy Doorbells tho I've been shifting to them.

That may depend on your location/interference. Mine's been great since I got it. Both the previous model, and this newer one that I upgraded too. I do have a Sync XR module though.

Wondering same. People always feel the need to call something "trash" or negativity towards it, but don't say why. It amounts to threadcrapping, because it's not helpful at all and is wasting everyone's time, data storage and network traffic.

I'm not "threadcrapping," and I'm sorry if you feel that way.
I had a very terrible experience with their doorbell cams. Some of the main issues are: 1) The camera was very slow (streaming is slow with an apparent delay). 2) The setup with the local storage is dumb and did not even work for me. It was a pain in the butt to set up. A lot of wasted hours with their stupid module, but I couldn't get it to work and appear in the app or store videos. 3) The way they set up the recording is not direct (as far as I can tell). It seems to me that videos go to the cloud first, then get downloaded to storage or something like that, but it wasn't a straightforward process. 4) WORSE OF ALL CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS SH*T! Believe me, you do not want to deal with them! Extremely slow to respond and offers zero solutions to any of the issues. I spent a couple of weeks just waiting for a response, and once I got it, it was utterly useless as it did not address the issue.
I HIGHLY do NOT recommend this. My advice to you or anyone else is to run. That is my honest opinion. Others may have a good experience with it, but I did not. On the tech-savviness scale, I may be classified as an "ultra-nerd" with a degree. Just saying that so you don't think "I did not know what I was doing."
Again, I'm not speaking to anyone's experience but my own.

As someone who currently has 10-15 BLINK cameras...
Bad:
1- Poor quality video
2- Inconsistent communication with modules or internet
3- Motion detection is sometimes hit or miss

Good...
A. System/cameras are pretty low cost
B. The app is good
C. Supports lots of cameras

Bottom line:
Don't expect much from it, you'll be ok/meh

It amounts to that threadcrapping when you don't explain, and just say negative things. It's not helpful to anyone. Regardless of intent.
I can't speak to your experience, but I experience none of what you're saying except for delay in getting the stream to start. That said, it's better on this iteration, but I don't know if it's the upgraded doorbell or if it it's the new XR receiver, or both. Never had the need to deal with their customer support. Just plug and play for me. In fact, I found the XR on Outdoor 4 camera to work exceptionally well as it did increase the distance drastically. The recordings are stored directly on the USB drive (on older models) and on the XR receiver it's straight to SD. No cloud or internet needed. It doesn't make sense for Blink to incur the cost of receiving your video, then downloading it to your receiver. Then incur all the cost of forensics (like logging) and storing your data.

So I've been happy, but everyone's experience will be slightly different and can depend on a host of environmental factors (such as interference).

PS, I appreciate the time taken to share your experience.

You would need to buy the the sync module 2. The plus side of the subscription is there are more features available, loads faster when viewing and time stamps are correct.
