This compact 850 watt Anova sous vide cooker is mainly appealing as a cheap way to try sous vide or add a second unit for smaller jobs. The basic app lets you set temperature and start or stop over Bluetooth, and the cooker has been used successfully for chicken, steaks, pork chops, and beef chuck. The main catch is app dependence, with Wi Fi remote start tied to a paid subscription and some concern about future support. It also heats more slowly than larger Anova models and can be too tall for some stock pots, making it a handy but limited little cooker.
Home cooks who want to try sous vide on a small budget, because the basic app can set temperature and start cooking over Bluetooth without a subscription.
Meal preppers cooking steaks, pork chops, or chicken in a room without a stove, because it has handled those foods reliably for years in a simple setup.
People who mainly need a second immersion cooker for smaller batches, because it works well for side dishes while another unit handles the main protein.
Frequent sous vide cooks who want a compact backup unit, because it has been used regularly with no issues and still works well.
Buyers who want a standalone cooker with physical controls, because basic operation depends on the app and it can become unusable if support ends.
People using tall stock pots, because the unit is too tall to fit in many stock pots.
Anyone expecting fast heat-up times, because this mini heats water noticeably slower than larger models.
Remote cooks who need Wi-Fi control, because Wi-Fi access requires a paid subscription and remote start can be locked behind it.

The app is supported/free (for now...)
other than that, it's a good brand at a good (repeating) price.

I think though this is the lowest it's ever been with previous low being around $25 but may be wrong?

- Had a pro since 2016. Still works but the dial is not accurate any more. I have to set the temp on the app
- Bought a new replacement last year. No issues, it's been great and used 3-4 times a week. Heats up faster than my original.
I have not used the mini in this post but I am thinking of picking it up for smaller things. Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank
