You can get this bundle with the 300s instead for $350 more. They're worth $200 more each so that's a slightly better deal. 300s are a big improvement on the 100s.

The only thing that makes me discontent with my Q900D setup is when I go to my buddies place and hear his Sonos. Comparison is the theif of joy.

The Sonos just seems to have more clarity and a 'cleaner' tone. And the bass output and accuracy is unreal on the Sonos.

That said, I still prefer the Q990D simply because of the price tag with EDU/EPP discount. The Sonos is better, but not enough to justify 2-3x the cost, unless you're really into movies. At that point though, I would probably put the effort into a proper AVR setup.

You can piece it together with Costco and do a little better since you get $140 in Apple gift cards plus some other coupons. Only difference is Costco only carries the Gen 3 sub - but it's basically the same as the Gen 4. There is no sound quality difference.

Costco pricing:- Sonos Arc Ultra $879.99- Eras 100 pair $319.99- Gen 3 sub $549.99Total = $1,749.97 + $140 gift cards = $1,609.97

And bonus for Executive Members getting 2% back = $35

Is there an issue with latency for BT speakers?
Maybe slightly, but for movies and TV it gets connected to the TV via the HDMI eArc port, so there won't be latency, even with the satellite speakers.

How this compare to the HWQ990F? I've seen the reviews, I'd like you guys opinion. Thanks
For movies/TV they are pretty neck and neck, Sonos comes out on top for music slightly. Once you add price into the mix, it is hard to justify the Sonos system as it is more than double getting close to triple what the Samsung can be had for on the EPP deals.

Interesting, I feel the exact opposite. Don't get me wrong, I have all the latest Sonos hardware and enjoy it plenty, especially for music around the house -- but even my last gen Q950 blows this bundle out of the water for movie experiences. I'm actually really disappointed how poorly the era's integrate into surround (don't sound bad, but don't act as surrounds very well -- though they are very good on their own for music).

I do know that the environment matters a ton with the Sonos Arc soundbar, as half of the speakers are up firing, so if it is set up in any room with vaulted ceilings, it sounds terrible. My neighbor likes how mine sounds but hates how his sounds because of how echoey everything sounds with his high ceilings.

I do agree with you though that the Sonos is nowhere near worth the cost unless you are heavily invested in the product and plan on using it outside of just movies.

Better than Samsung just way more expensive. Samsung will be 600 in a few months around spring. Only real noticeable difference is bass. The Sonos bass from sub is on point while the Samsung when you crank it up begins to be a bit too wide.

IMO Klipsch is better for music but if Sonos would work on their app functionality, their ecosystem for home theatre and integration is outstanding.
There is no such thing as a speaker that plays better for home theater than music….

These with a sub would actually be an upgrade over any Sonos system and whatever Klipsch you have (they measure good and sound good). You're missing the extra channels but me personally I would take that over this Sonos setup any day.

Gift cards don't reduce cost. This deal is cheaper and comes with better sub.

Also there is a difference in quality and performance with the Gen4.

How's this Sonos vs Bose? Each time I demo them the Bose ultra with bass module 700 seems to sound better
I have the Bose and love it but the Sonos is also very good. The thing that put the Bose on top for me is their AI dialogue mode. I've never heard a soundbar with better dialogue quality and it does so without messing with the rest of the mix like dialogue modes on most other bars.

The one complaint I have, and I could understand it being a dealbreaker for anyone, is that maybe once a month or so I have to unplug the power from it and reboot to get sound.

Actually, if you have an apple bill you pay every month. You use the gift card to pay that bill... well math is math.

I purchased a set during Covid for around the same price. Due to an increase in demand and decreased supply, prices increased and I haven't seen them at this price point in a while. I would jump on this if I didn't currently own a set already. I added a second sub for extra bass and it was worth it. I utilize my system for both music and movies and love everything about it.
