This Legion Pro 7i stands out as a high end gaming laptop with an RTX 5080, 240Hz OLED display, and strong battery life for a machine this powerful. The 5080 is a major step up from the 5070 Ti alternative, and the 16GB of VRAM is seen as a solid floor for gaming and AI work. The 64GB memory configuration is useful for mixed work and gaming, especially for tasks like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 or photo and video editing. The main tradeoff is size and power, since it is heavy and the power brick is heavy too. A strong fit if you want desktop class performance in a portable Windows machine.

  • The 7i with the RTX 5080 can deliver much better non-gaming battery life than an HX3D/5080 7 Pro variant.

  • The Legion setup is positioned as a gaming-focused machine that stays plugged in for most use cases.

  • Lenovo outlet pricing can be reduced further with a DEC15OUTLET code.

  • A Phoenix opening discount reportedly provided an extra 10% off Micro Center's already high pricing.

  • The 32GB RAM configuration may still be enough for gaming, but it may not satisfy buyers who specifically paid for 64GB.

  • The power brick can be heavy, which can make the laptop less convenient for frequent unplugged use.

  • The deal can be less compelling if the configuration includes only 32GB RAM instead of 64GB.

  • The RTX 5080 deal can be a major difference versus linked alternatives that use a 5070 Ti GPU.

Read the specs more carefully. The one you've linked is the 5070 Ti, whereas this has the 5080. World of difference.

I am returning my HX3D/5080 variant of the 7 pro and I just got back from picking up this laptop. The HX3D is more powerful in gaming by a small margin, but I was gettting less than 2 hours of non gaming battery life. I wish it was more efficient. Both laptops were the same price so in terms of budget it was a latereral move. After messing around with this for a few hours, the battery life is much better and the gaming performance difference plugged in is not noticeable without a frame counter.

I dont think any Lenovo deals had the 64gb ram and 2tb storage down to $2k unless you snagged the few refurbished ones they had at that price.

it has only 32GB of RAM, I bought it myself, don't think it worth it to pay $300 for 64GB of RAM, not to mention CB via Lenovo website was better.

Never had a gaming laptop. Wonder how this compares to a decent desktop setup.

Depends if you need the RAM. RAM prices are insane nowadays.

How does this laptop do compared to this laptop? (I may not need 64GB RAM and 2TB Storage)
