Is there a date code on them that reveals what year they were manufactured?

If they're new, does that matter?

Think the % off and $319 original price are for the two pack with charger that is also listed. Normal price for 5ah battery is around $80-$100.

ETA: the 2 pack and charger bundle is $299 currently at lowes.

Look on the "top inside" where it mates to the implement, they put the year.

Unless you have a receipt, it's for warranty purpose.
But I've got probably $2K (based on retail price) and I bought over the years since 2012. I've only had a few of the DeWalt ones fail.

Early on I bought a few off brand and they died within a few years.

I decided to to with Ridgid brand tools yrs ago for the simple reason if your battery pack ever dies, ridgid will replace it for free. Not to mention they will also repair your broken tool, parts and labor for free as long as the tool is registered after you purchase it. Now you can decide if Ridgid brand is equal to DeWalt in quality. Ive never had issues with any Ridgid tools I own which is quite a few.

It would be great if woot would list the manufacture date on products like this.

Doesn't the warranty start from the date of purchase?
