Care to elaborate? 250 nits is very poor. A laptop screen at 250 nits is the base for brightness. A screen like this shoukd be minimum 300 nits.

I got this for my backup basement pc last month. So far so good. Haven't used it much since its for the backup pc, and it is cold so the basement is even colder. But haven't managed to get the refresh rate past 60 without the resolution going down to 1080p...but even with that the max refresh setting says 120. I do need to use a display port cord, but even with hdmi it should be better. But I haven't had a new monitor in forever. My main monitor is my LG tv, which is also 60hz. So this has been a learning experience.

I don't think so. It was a blank box. A pretty big box, and well packaged, but nothing saying "acer monitor" on it like one might see on any monitor or tv packaging.
