I was in Costco South Windsor CT today and they had signs if you buy Costco Gift of Membership you also get $30 Costco shopping card. No idea about other locations but you can call ahead and find out. bulb

My husband bought this too yesterday from Costco and the lady there said it can be used towards membership renewal as well...so no brainer for us as his membership is already expiring in 13 days and we can not use any other offers for an existing membership.

Hm, bought the Groupon to be a gift for a niece, and foolishly didn't realize it immediately redeems to the purchasing Groupon account. So, now I have two accounts? I guess I'm thinking I'll go in to the physical location and see if they can redirect this new one to her email address.

it can be used for renewal. Just bought it in my local Costco, and get the card and immediately used it at the membership service desk to renew my current membership.
It seems that you can only use it to renew at the service desk, not online though

I saw the sign of $30 shop card, but just grabbed the box and checked out. Do you have to sign up with email address for the shop card? No one was there.

I asked the membership desk on the way out. They said it will be emailed within a few weeks.

Cannot be used as a regular shop card (unable to add to online account). Limit 3 per a sign in store and in the terms.
