I've had 2 previous generations of Sofa Batons. The app can be pretty trash, when it actually works. And the hardware is kinda janky even on its best day. No way on god's green earth I'd pay nearly $300 for this thing after my experience with their other products.
I had bought a Sofa Baton (U1?) at least a year ago for around $20 to replace a second not working Apple TV remote. That one works good enough, connects over Bluetooth for Apple TV, and numbers can be used to enter PIN. Anyway, I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't $20, and I think maybe their cheaper models can be a good value to carry on the Logitech Harmony legacy.
Considering it's pretty much this or the really buggy Unfolded Circle remote that is much more expensive, there are very, very few choices for user-programmable universal remotes with physical buttons on the market now that Harmony is out of the picture and will be completely shut off soon enough. I've heard that the X2 is at least better overall than the X1S. I'll give it a shot.
