Someone else said that these need relatively fine motor skills to use, and by that time your kids could do legos which are way cooler. That seemed like a good point.

That said, these are way cheaper than Legos.

I can vouch that kids still love playing with these. The stacking motion is different from the snapping-together motion that Legos provide. There's almost a Jenga-like effect to see how high they can stack these before toppling over. I bought two a few years ago and my 3.5 yo daughter still plays with these constantly.
