I tried an open box Legion Pro 5 on Friday night. "Geek squad verified" means nothing. The 5060 on the one I got was bad (likely a bad solder job) - whenever the system tried to use it, the screen would stay black. Forcing the IGP and looking in the "BIOS," it would say "GPU Invalid."

After the laptop warmed up with some load for maybe 30-minutes, the discrete GPU started to work again, until the laptop cooled back down from power off, and it went back to black screen unless the IGP was forced.. This heat/expansion is what lead me to believe that it was a bad mainboard/poorly soldered gpu/something.

Just an anecdote on a bad open-box laptop of the same model that I received as "excellent" condition 2 days ago. Otherwise the laptop was quite nice, and the 80Wh design-capacity battery had a 83Wh capacity out of the box. The 20-ish year olds at customer service/returns didn't seem like they'd understand more than "display stays black," so it may end up in the inventory again. I did force the discrete-graphics-only in the UEFI before returning, so hopefully that will make "geek squad" get the black screen when it's tested, instead of potentially testing it and seeing the IGP running the screen fine, and marking the laptop as "working" again.

Bought during black friday, just price matched it. Runs hot on performance mode, but otherwise, no complaints so far. Beautiful display

This is a great deal, but if I'm reading the "flash sale" correctly, it ends in 4 hours
