Community Reviews
This Acer Aspire 3 looks like a strong budget laptop for schoolwork, spreadsheets, QuickBooks, light development, and older or non AAA games. The Ryzen 5 7520U, 16GB of memory, and 1TB SSD make it feel snappy for everyday use, and USB C charging works despite the barrel power brick. The main drawbacks are a dim screen, no backlit keyboard, and weak Radeon 610M graphics, with some reports that the listed Full HD panel is actually 1536 by 864. It is a practical low cost machine if you can live with the display and graphics limits.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. It uses a barrel power brick, but it can also be charged through the USB-C port, which makes it easier to use with a dock or other USB-C accessories.
It is suitable for older games and lighter non-AAA titles on lower settings, but the Radeon 610M integrated graphics severely limit gaming performance. It is better suited to general use, schoolwork, and light productivity than modern gaming.
The display is reported as dim, and one comment says it measures 1536 x 864 despite a Full HD 1080 sticker. It should be fine indoors, but it is not a bright panel.
No backlit keyboard is included.

Performance is OK.
You might encounter issues with the barrel power cord.
It isn't a powerhouse, the screen is a bit dimmer than ideal, but for sub $200 its a no brainer.
I've been using this for the last 5 months when this came as a deal initially for $275. The power cord is third party, charges and works well. Screen is a bit dim but works well indoors. I use it for low memory dev stuff. The built is a bit flimsy but pretty good for the price. The main attraction for me is the USB-C charging, so I can connect a couple of external monitors via my dock.
Edit It turns out they went 'out of stock' they jack up the price to $295.99 with 20% off in another listing.
