Ah, naw, it's that weak ugly duckling inferior version nobody wants. Man, the notification got me excited and jumping up for a second thinking it's the Z2 EXTREME version. 🤦

For anyone who hasn't researched the differences between this one and the black one (ROG XBOX Ally X) - the performance differences are vast.

This one (white one) is on par with a steam deck- nowhere near the performance of the more expensive one. You'd be better off getting any older device with a Z1 extreme over this. The only thing this has going for it is the ergonomics

Yeah you can find Z1E models second hand for this price or cheaper

So what exactly is this thing? Mom here so no idea. My son has an Xbox x. Is this something he would need if he wanted to go on a trip away from home and still play the Xbox?

if you thought that was the top of the line when the Ally X never had this low tag, then you're not really the brightest deal-sniper around. Be reasonable.

But, wouldn't a Laptop or tablet style Laptop be better value for the price? And setup a sandbox or VM for gaming on said computer? This way if compromised in any way, just delete the VM and spin up another one? And can use LT for studying and growth, for the money. One can play XBox games on most windows PC's, but again, I keep gaming and Business separate with VMs.At least the PS Go device is like $150 - $200.Just seems like a lot $$ for little benefits. You know like most of Microsoft these days...as they are forcing everyone, everything to their cloud to milk every red cent via subscriptions, you are "renting" your apps/data as long as you are willing to pay for them. Like Amazon books, you do not actually own them. Just renting them as long as you have Amazon account.

Kind of. Except this plays PC games not Xbox games. Some games he owns on Xbox will be available on PC (called Play Anywhere). If he uses Game Pass, a lot of those games are on both PC and Xbox. But some games would have to be purchased again. Rockstar games for example, are not Play Anywhere compatible.

Just feel like 7 inch is too small, but then leGo is huge, when I saw it in best buy store, Claw AI makes sense, lego S too, but then everything is overpriced af

And that's why the only one worth buying was and still is the Ally z1e, and maybe the steam deck if you don't mind losing the other games you're not able to play(namely online ones that don't work on linux and games on other store library). "Oh but the battery sucks" yeah. it does! and then you get a cheap upgrade to a 60W+ battery and it's STILL the best option around. Soooo... yeah.... everything is overpriced. OR everything is expensive to make... Because if it was overpriced, they would have dropped to compete with the Ally. And most don't.

Honestly I don't care about battery, I will have power bank, and will be mostly using in my travels in flights. The issue is still, the 7 and 7.4 inch deck is too small. Legion go s with z1e and claw 8 ai are both overpriced as heck
