The Walking Dead complete series is a cheap way to grab all 11 seasons, with the strongest value coming from the early run and the full set at about $1 per season. The first two to three seasons are described as the best, with strong pacing, solid scripts, and the show's big cultural impact still standing out. Later seasons are widely framed as a slow decline, with soap opera style plotting, weaker rewatch value, and a finale that did not land well. At $12.99, it remains a lot of zombie TV for the money.

  • The complete series price around $13 makes it an easy purchase despite later-season disappointments.

  • The early seasons deliver strong pacing and script quality that can justify starting the series.

  • The set can still be worthwhile for zombie fans for roughly the first six seasons.

  • The series can be rewatched as a social or political allegory about factions, which adds a different viewing lens.

  • Later seasons can peter out and feel like a slow decline that disappoints after the early run.

  • The show can become frustrating and drag into soap-drama territory, which hurts character investment.

  • Season 7, episode 1 can be extremely violent and brutal, which can cause viewers to stop watching.

  • Rewatch value can feel limited after multiple viewings, even when the purchase is still made.

Great show that got progressively worse as most do, but not much rewatchability imo. I don't think I'd ever watch it beyond a few good episodes.

For $13, I'll "bite." Here is my spoiler-free experience on "The Walking Dead" TV series:

Seasons 1 and 2 are the best in the series. Great pacing + excellent script. The acting was top-notch!!!
Season 3 is very good, not great.
Season 4 is when things start to fade, and you start hating some of the characters and where they're going.
Season 5-6 are when you start questioning yourself, if you should continue watching.
Season 7, episode 1 - most violent and brutal episode. Brace yourself! The season is a love/hate.
Season 8-10 "Why am I still watching this horrible series?"
Season 11 - "I might as well finish this awful series, because I'm a glutton for punishment."
Stopped watching after that ONE episode and an insane cliffhanger at the end

This is when I stopped watching. That was enough.
I am assuming this is the episode I am thinking of and I asked myself why am I watching this, isn't it supposed to be entertainment. I did ultimately end up watching through the end but just for the sake of finishing it.

Regardless of the quality dip in later seasons the series is easily worth $13.

Solid consistent quality show from beginning to end but its not for the faint of heart. A lot of it is feel bad television dealing with how cheap human life can be when it comes to one's own survival and it will wear on most viewers. With the introduction of the ways of NEGAN in season 7, the show become way too real for those viewers who somehow got this far and thought bad things can't happen to anyone for no reason in a Zombie apocalypse. Especially when it was happening almost every episode for the previous 6 seasons. I watched them all on TV when they aired but 13 bucks is an easy purchase for me because I was missing the first 2 season and the last 2 seasons in my digital library.
