The DEWALT folding workbench stands out as a sturdy, easy to deploy portable table for painting, sawing, blueprints, and other light to medium shop tasks. It folds open and closed more easily than the Lowe's Kobalt alternative, and the dog clamp holes, bar clamp slots, and 3 quarter inch edge dog holes add real utility. The build has held up for years in outdoor use, though the plastic hinge and thin plastic near the legs can fail with frequent cycling or heavier impacts. It is a solid compact work surface, but not a replacement for saw horses.

Common Questions (3)

  • It can be worth the extra $10 for easier opening and closing, and it is described as the best folding table among Home Depot and Lowe's offerings. A newer Klein work table is also said to be very similar in design and durability, so the choice may come down to clamp-hole layout and convenience.

  • It has held up for about 5 years in outdoor painting and sawing use and is described as solid and well made. The main caveat is that the plastic hinge and thin plastic near the leg support can fail with frequent folding or heavy impact, so it is better suited to light-duty work than replacing saw horses.

  • Yes. It includes dog clamp holes and slots for bar clamps in an X arrangement, plus standard 3/4-inch dog holes along the edges. That makes it more useful for clamping and holding workpieces during woodworking or blueprint/layout tasks.

FYI, this design has a huge flaw. This thing is good for light duty use as others have commented. Now for the flaw. Look at the picture and notice that small peice of metal going from the legs up to the side of the plastic table top. All serious force is directed to this thin piece of plastic which completely breaks and pushes out. Don't be fooled by the 1000 pound number as this thin peice of plastic blows out long before then. I dropped a 4x8 sheet of plywood down(not aggressively) which then blew out at the failure point i noted above. Don't expect this to take the place of some good saw horses.

Our local lowes has had one of these on display for the better part of a year now with 12 80lb bags of cement sitting on it.

That's lame. Do you have a tractor supply and Home Depot nearby? I move heard of a policy that says it had to be available locally, and they did ask for my zip code. There's a TSC is just up the road from the THD here (and a bunch more in the area) so that may have played a role

I got mine pricematched as well at Home Depot when I picked up the table (online chat claimed I couldn't do it before). When I asked for the price match, the sales associate exclaimed "But we already have it on sale ourselves!"... however, they still went ahead with the pricematch a few minutes and supervisor approval later.
