Amazon puts 3rd party resellers, official products and fakes into the same warehouse bin. Third party resellers buy official products at a discount due to old labeling, old packaging or near expiration. Amazon has trouble sorting through legit 3rd party resellers on their massive scale. Meaning fakes are kept along with official products in the same bin.

Companies can pay extra for the warehouse bin to contain only official products. However you lose prime shipping. Verification of products takes time and money. Amazon can't keep a separate bin and keep two day shipping.

Customers aren't told what products have separate binning and are verified to be official products. The general rule is if a product says official store and didn't have prime shipping, they keep separate bins for that product.

Just FYI, these ZeroWater filters were available for the past week for as low as $6.75 each at Kohl's. AND you got Kohls Cash and Kohls Rewards on top of that.
Since there are no 3rd party sellers on Kohl's, these filters are definitely not counterfeit.

Those coupons have since expired. But currently, all customers (not just Kohls Card Holders) can get 8-count for $67.48 plus free shipping ($8.44 each). AND you get $10 Kohls Cash and Kohls Rewards.

I think the Kohl's deal is slicker than the Amazon deal because you can also pay using Kohl's gift card that you purchased at a 15% discount. For example:

Pretty good deal. Sub $10 pricing is pretty rare after the COVID years, let alone after tax

I wish I could trust it. Lots of fake filters on amazon. When I buy directly from Culligan the tops are always tear off tinfoil. Why are the ones on Amazon screw caps? Yes yes I know there's a newer system that uses the screw caps. The legacy filters don't. I'm definitely not saying these are fake. I've been burned with both Brita and ZW legacy examine carefully. FYI I know the product picture shows tin foil top. Think of me If the ones that arrive have blue or black screw tops.

I always get tear foil..there's another knockoff brand i forgot the name, but it actually worked really well and I prefer that one over the official ones

I bought the dispenser from walmart.com for $10 when it was on mark down a few weeks ago and the filter comes with blue cap. So it must be legit product. Knock off might use the cheaper foil?

Just here to tell anybody considering getting Zerowater that if you're in an area with really awful tasting water, these filters will only last a couple dozen gallons. I had these in both Arizona and Oklahoma, and ended up having to replace the filter every week. At the prices these things go for, even on sale, the Berkey I got to replace it paid for itself in under a year.

Use a water tester. I regularly order an 8 pack from Amazon and they've always showed 000.

Berkey lacks NSF/ANSI certification, with numerous users reporting before/after test results showing lithium and arsenic not being filtrated. Seems reverse osmosis is the way to go for pure water.

I've had both screw top & foil, and both worked equally well. Some came from Amazon and some from Kohl's. I'm pretty sure they were all legit.
The fishy taste can happen if you let it go too long before replacing the filter. If the ppm gets to 3, replace it - don't wait.
Zero water even filters out cesium (I forget the number, it's atomic waste). Zero water is the best filtering system you can buy! Even better than a Berkey...

I bought this 2x. The plastic film you peel off the filter doesn't fully peel off. I didn't have that issue with the filters that came with the zero water filtration unit. Seems to filter water just fine. Lasts me about 1 week before you can only fill the unit half way. Starts to get a funky fishy taste after about a 3-4 weeks of use. I assume that's cause my water is bad… but my neighbor says we get clean lake Michigan water and should be the best. 🤷🏻 ♂️

My pitcher is Culligan ZeroWater. Do these ZeroWater filters fit? I remember the new Culligan ones are not compatible with these legacy ones, right? Thanks!
