This refurbished Zotac RTX 3080 deal is mainly attractive for strong 1440p gaming performance and, in some cases, lower power draw when undervolted. The card is described as faster than a non Super 4070 in raw performance, and the 3080 12GB class is praised for solid frame rates without needing the newest Nvidia features. The main drawbacks are the older architecture, the 90 day warranty, and confusion over the listing, since the linked specs appear to show 10GB rather than 12GB. The price also looks less compelling once shipping and tax are added.
Builders who need 24GB VRAM for rendering or AI, because the 3090 variant is still considered useful for those workloads.
The 3080 12GB is described as slightly faster than a non-Super RTX 4070 in raster performance, but it is an older card without DLSS frame generation. With undervolting, it can run around 90-100 fps in BF6 at high settings at roughly 105-140W.
Refurbished Zotac cards can arrive looking brand new aside from missing retail packaging, with no dust and normal operation. Several prior purchases have also run for years without issues.
Yes, the refurb warranty is 90 days. That is shorter than a typical new-card warranty, but it is still considered better than buying a used GPU from random sellers.
The linked specs show a 3080 with 10GB VRAM, and the 12GB version appears to be out of stock. Check the product page carefully before buying if you specifically want the 12GB model.
The listed price is no longer especially low once shipping and tax are added, with one estimate putting it at about $371 total. That makes the value less compelling than the headline $317.99 suggests.
Yes. According to Techpowerup, the 3080 has about 30% higher performance. I believe that is purely rasterisation and does not take into account any of the newer Nvidia technologies.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. My brief googling turned up the same. If anyone is in it for AI, my brief research showed the 5060 16gb is better due to AI needing to consume large amounts of VRAM. But I have no first hand experience so take that FWIW.

There is no 5060 16GB, so I assume you are referring to the 5060 TI 16GB. These have been on sale for $400 or even less, but rarely. They don't have quite the raw horsepower of the 3080, but considering it's the latest architecture with all the current bells and whistles it would certainly be worth considering the 5060 TI if you can afford the difference.

$539 for a 3090 is still expensive on my opinion unless you need the 24gb vram for rendering or Ai. I think $499 for a 5070 is still a better deal for gaming.
