Acer Predator Neo 16S AI is a slim 16 inch OLED gaming laptop that stands out for its strong specs and sharp display at this price. The 5070 Ti, Core Ultra 9, 32GB of memory, and 1TB SSD deliver fast gaming and smooth everyday use, with the OLED screen and keyboard drawing praise. The main tradeoffs are battery life, a glossy panel, and reports that the GPU is capped at 115W, which may leave performance below full power. Heat and fan noise also come up, making it a capable but not especially quiet portable gaming machine.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, it has been reported to run modern games smoothly at max settings, with examples like BG3 looking great and Doom staying above 60 fps in combat. Some owners also note that BIOS updates and power-setting changes can fix micro-freezes or shutdown issues.

    MerryJuice6126jbordisSSJ5BroliElatedWriter8455

  • Battery life is the main downside, and the 240Hz OLED panel can make it worse. It is better suited to plugged-in gaming or desk use than all-day portable work.

    Bandroidpphunckinbox4sumitnturox1

  • No, this slim 16S version is reported to cap the RTX 5070 Ti at 115W instead of 140W+, so it may not reach the full potential of the GPU. Even so, it still has 12GB of VRAM and is expected to outperform lower-VRAM 5070 options in many games.

    pphunckEricJ19tommy7154maximuspersie

  • The Costco listing includes an IPS display, a free game worth at least $50, and an extra year of warranty. This eBay deal is the better value if you want the OLED panel and are comfortable with the 115W GPU limit.

    houtanSmartHaddock3847maximuspersietommy7154

  • The OLED panel offers better image quality and deeper blacks, while the Costco IPS screen avoids OLED burn-in concerns. The OLED is glossy and more reflective, and a matte protector can dull its blacks.

I believe the lowest price I saw for this particular model was around $1,500. Let us know what you think of it—its main drawback, in my opinion, is the battery life.

Looks like a great deal, but just FYI its equal to a 3080 desktop graphics card in terms of real world performance +- 1-2% in some games. Been holding onto my 3080 FTW now, and still deciding do I build another desktop like I do every 4-5 years or do go the easy route and get a laptop.... I will see what the next generation AMD brings in terms of laptop graphics since Nvidia is playing too many games!

Besides the batter power (also due to the screen being stuck at 240hz), the other complaint has been the lack of power for the gpu (max 115w vs. 140w+ )which then doesn't work to its potential. This issue is supposedly only on the S version (16s). I am torn because otherwise the specs are amazing for the price...

The one from review doesn't have the OLED panel.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

It's loud, it's hot and poor battery life even when not gaming. I might return it.

Wow what a good deal. Even if it's slightly underpowered relative to other 5070 tis, it has the 12gb of vram and should still outperform the full powered 5070

I bought it and will definitely be returning it. The screen and keyboard are nice. But the chasis gets way too hot and the fans are super annoying. I already had other laptop with oled screen so I'm not gonna miss it that much.
