The Xbox Wireless Controller is a straightforward pick for anyone wanting a standard Xbox pad at a sharp sale price, with white and black versions at $38 and other colors still showing around $42. Lenovo Rewards can cut the out of pocket cost a lot, with some orders dropping into the low 30s or even much lower after points and promo credits. The controller is also described as having built in protection against stick drift, though that claim is disputed and the warranty is only one year. Lenovo ordering itself has been hit by cancellations and payment authorization problems, so the deal is strongest if checkout goes smoothly.

Common Questions (4)

  • A new Lenovo account can earn rewards on the purchase, with one reported checkout at $23 plus tax generating $15 in rewards. The rewards can reduce the effective cost substantially, but tax still has to be paid out of pocket.

  • Lenovo orders can be auto-canceled or fail payment authorization even when the card is valid, and one replacement order came back at $42.90 instead of $42.00. Rewards were re-applied on the replacement, but the process can add delay and extra hassle.

  • Open the Legion Gaming Community or Creator Community, log in, then go to My Lenovo Rewards at the bottom. The How to Earn Points section shows the actions that can earn additional reward money.

  • The Pulse Red, Velocity Green, Shock Blue, and Deep Pink variants were reported at $42 while the white and black versions were $38. Using Lenovo rewards can bring the colored models down to about $30 effective cost.

I just bought the white Xbox controller from Lenovo for $23 plus tax. I just created a new account and earned $15 in rewards (15,000 points). You could earn up to $16.50 (16,500 points) in rewards but that last $1.50 was hard to trigger and I didn't want waste more time.

How'd you get $15 right away? The intro activities only earn about $4

That was a dumb process to try to get points. I updated my profile, but apparently if you don't have other all the other platforms (twitch, steam, etc) then it won't count your profile as updated to get points. Either that or it takes hours to try to verify - but as soon as I found some info to put in it finally said it was complete. Now the controller is sold out on Lenovo. Did I need a controller? Not necessarily - but a spare to attach only to my phone/laptop would have been nice, for $30 or less

For anyone interested (especially if you do the Lenovo rewards) the colored variants are still on sale for $42 (I ended up getting $12 in rewards to bring it to $30, it wasn't worth the time trying to get another $1-2).

-Pulse Red
-Velocity Green
-Shock Blue
-Deep Pink

I bought mine, so here's the link to those:

I paid only $11 including taxes due to the $25 free Reward on top of another $5 for filling up surveys. Great deal for $11.

That is said I wonder if this sale has anything to do with the rumor that Microsoft is gradually moving away from console hardware business. It's ironic that they first raised the price significantly and then discounted to make it almost the same price as sale prices before the price increase.

You got a great deal paying just $11. If you had earned $13 in reward money (in addition to the $25 free Reward), then you would only have to pay $3 for the tax. You always have to pay for the tax with money.
